Instructor machine/server:

  • x86 processor, 2 GHz or better, with PAE support
  • 1 GB RAM, 2 GB desirable
  • 100 GB hard disk space
  • DVD drive capable of booting system
  • USB2 external port
  • video card capable of 1024×768 resolution or better under RHEL 5
  • TWO 10/100 MB/sec ethernet cards compatible with RHEL 5 (Xircom Cardbus PCMCIA Cards are known not to work)
  • Network must be 100baseT

  • RH300, RH302, RHS333, RH436 only: there must be at least one more machine than the number of enrolled students.
  • RH400-level classes: two workstations per student required.
  • RH401: 2 GB RAM minimum (3 GB preferred) and TWO 10/100 MB/sec NICs required in each student workstation.
  • x86 processor, 2 GHz or better, with PAE support
  • 1 GB RAM (For RH401: 2 GB RAM minimum, 3 GB preferred)
  • 40 GB hard disk space (For RH401: 100GB required)
  • CD-ROM drive capable of booting system
  • 3.5? Floppy drive
  • video card capable of 1024×768 resolution or better under RHEL 5
  • 10/100 MB/sec ethernet card compatible with RHEL 5 (Xircom Cardbus PCMCIA Cards are known not to work). For RH401: two NICs required.) NO WIRELESS NICs ARE PERMITTED IN CLASSES INCLUDING EXAMS.
  • Network must be 100 MB/sec
  • RH401 only: TWO 10/100 MB/sec NICs per machine required.

    There are two options in taking this test: The 640-801 CCNA exam, or (2) exams: 640-821 INTRO and 640-811 ICND.

    The choice is yours to make. The 640-801 exam consists of both the objectives included in the INTRO and ICND exams.
